There is always some trial and error involved in reality, and you need to get the right professional tools from the beginning. Its a very expensive hobby., but you always can sell it. You want a simple set up: portraits and most headshots: Nikon D750 with SB910 Speed light mounted on swivel bracket and small reflective umbrella mounted on same camera bracket, 85mm or 70-200 mm lenses , tripod and portable backdrop, either White/black or Gray, with a holder and clamp. Works all the time

Most of the book seems to be about buying equipment the details of which he attempts to describe while displaying a total ignorance of the subject.He doesn't know what a monobloc is or that most kits are made up from them.He thinks a speedlight is a special flash for short duration flashes for godsake! He also states that the power cannot be changed on an on - camera flash.And that is just a few of things he gets wrong.There are only two pages of set ups vaguely described.But the worst part is that he recommends buying damaged lighting equipment and repairing it!This is very dangerous and could get someone killed!Doesn't deserve one star even.

It never even addresses what is in his title mainly how to set up his studio. poorly written no wonder the authors credentials were never listed. uses some terms that a glossary would have helped. author also included numerous blank pages at the end to increase the page total. Not only should I get my money back, I need the time back from reading this drivel. There is a reason why people self publish, it is because their book sucks.

Photography is easy to say but not at all easy to done. It requires lot of talent and if you want to open a photographic studio then you better need a lot of thing. lighting is one of the important things in photography and it has really explained what a beginner need to know regarding lighting.

This book is great for a beginner like me! The instructions are really easy to understand and follow. I just got a new camera and this book really helped me take a great picture like a professional! Knowing how setting up the light can help the photos look great is really interesting as well.
