After the awesome 3rd and 4th seasons, and the first graphic novel, which was mostly a lot of fanservice (not unwelcome fanservice, but fanservice nonetheless), I just don't feel like this is a fitting continuation of the series. Legend of Korra had one major advantage over The Last Airbender: the main villain for Aang, Firelord Ozai, was barely fleshed out, and just pure evil for no reason, whereas Korra had 4 (5 if you count Vaatu and Unaloq separately) distinct, well-developed and fleshed out villains, who each came with a different philosophical quandary that she had to grapple with, and which made them more sympathetic villains for the most part (with season 2 doing this the least successfully). But the villain in the graphic novel series? He doesnt seem like a real threat at all, he's not even as good as Amon, he's more like Amon's mustachioed right hand man: a good fighter, but what does he represent, and why should we care about him? Korra should be dealing with GREATER stakes than she did with Kuvira, not a small fry like this guy. Hopefully the third installment sticks the landingAlso, I like the idea of Zhu Li running for President, but I feel like Varrick has lost all his character and charisma now.And after having Korra and Asami get together officially and rush into their relationship in the last issue, their relationship is barely developed or touched on in this one
I love how they're continuing Korra and Asami's story through these comics. Without spoiling too much, I'm kinda disappointed with how many subplots this comic series has and how little time it has to explore them all, considering this first set of volumes will be a trilogy without confirmation of other comics. And the fact that Korra seems to have regressed back to her S1-S2 days when it comes to development. Still, there's still time to fix that little problem with the third installment. I can't wait to get my hands on the third book and hopefully have more Korra comics in the future!
Turf wars part 2 is where the action begins! Turf wars part 1, was only a set up to something spectacular. Things are heating up against Team Avatar and The Triple Threats' Tokuga in the fate of Republic City. The team behind the graphic novel did a fantastic job, (i still wish the colouring job was done a bit better. It does get cleaner near the end, but hope they continue that in the next issue.) But overall I love this part, if you weren't happy with part 1 of Turf Wars because of its slow pacing and plot, part 2 has you covered! :D
Fantastic! I am so grateful for these books. I'm a huge Clexa fan and a huge Korrasami fan and whenever I get really bummed out about Clexa, I turn to Korrasami and am instantly cheered up. Words can't describe what these mean to me and I know I'm not alone in that. I also love the art, the artist is so talented!
This is the second volume in this continuation of The Legend of Korra. My favorite part of this series is getting to see Korra and Asami's relationship continue. There is a complex political atmosphere. The series follows all the main cast, but everyone is doing their own thing. I like when the gang comes back together. The parts of this series each feel like just parts of a larger story instead of complete stories.I look forward to continuing this series. I give this second volume a 4.5/5.
A great follow-up to the first installment, my only complaint is that I have to wait until June to read the resolution! I love seeing Korra's continuing adventures, watching her relationship with Asami develop and FINALLY Zhu Li is seriously considering a run for President. I can't wait for the next installment! Keep up the great work!
This book is such great quality and I am so impressed! I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend for his birthday and he is SO excited to read it. We loved the animated show and can't wait to learn more about what happened after.
I hate having to wait for part 3 because I am ADDICTED and this comic series is SO GOOD. The Korrasami is beautiful, the art is beautiful, the story is fascinating... I just wish each book were longer. 60 ish pages is not enough!
